Grand Theft Auto IV Takes the Gaming World by Storm

At midnight tomorrow, consumer electronics stores all over the country will be packed with thousands of gamers to get a copy of the most anticipated video game of the year; “Grand Theft Auto IV”.
Game stores like Best Buy and Game Spot are preparing for the big launch and holding midnight openings across the country to welcome the storm bringing in by the most anticipated game.
The insanely popular game has a plotline similar to its previous series where players have the freedom to do almost anything and everything that would be illegal in real life, in the fictional Liberty City.
The video game franchise which was labeled as the most controversial video game has become more popular with every new edition to its series. The first and the second of the GTA series, which was released in 1997, sold 1 million and 1.2 million copies respectively. Then on, GTA sales continued to rise with GTA 3 hitting 6.2 million units sold, GTA: Vice City at 7.2 million and GTA: San Andreas, 9.2 million. The compilation packs of these games alone clocked another 7 million in sales.
GTA 4 is expected to hit $400 million in sales within its first week of release. A NPD analyst expects GTA 4 to be the top-selling game of the year especially with a larger targeted player now having GTA 4 available for the very first time on both PS3 and Xbox at the same time.
