Zink Portable Printer - Light, Tiny and It Does NOT Use Ink!

Polaroid Corp. who once developed and lionize its own prints get back to its origin of printing its own photos with its new collaboration with Zink Imaging Inc. Polaroid and Zink are undeniably the perfect fit for this latest innovation, when Polaroid put together its existing concept with a thermal printing technology from Zink.

At the same Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last Monday, Polaroid Corp. and Zink Imaging Inc. hits the market with announcement of the latest printer that is as light as 8-ounce, slightly bigger than a deck of card, easily connected to cell phones or digital cameras using USB port or Bluetooth wireless and the WOW factor of this portable gadget is of course… that the printer does NOT use ink!

The secret of this new technology is in the paper. The Zink Technology uses heat to activate minuscule dye crystal embedded in the photo paper. Not only it is ink-less but it prints a photo in less than a minute. The 2” x 3” papers cost about 40 cents per piece and cheaper when purchased in bulk.

The printer is expected to hit the market real soon, selling at an estimated $150.
