Microsoft Corp Chairman, Bill Gates contrived to hold a more minor role in the corporation this summer, giving up his position as a Chairman to focus on his charitable foundation.
Imitation videos covering Gates’ last day of his duty as a Chairman were widely watched on YouTube by thousands, shows Microsoft’s staffs making funny guesses of what their Chairman would do on his last day of work.
Gates addressed his ‘last’ keynote speech as a Chairman about the next digital decade in the recent Consumer Electronics Show (CES), stating confidence in continuous success of the second digital decade. Microsoft is heading towards a new age of technology where it is all consumer-friendly; speech and touch base that allow interactions between consumers and Microsoft products.
Gates too announced collaboration between the company and Walt Disney Co. ABC and Disney are seen to be integrating into the Xbox Live program soon.
Also in his speech, Gates introduced the latest Microsoft prototype invention that resembles cell phone to actually recognize places and faces. For example, it helps the user to locate places in 3D form and remind the user of notes or reminders associated to a person when the device ’sees’ the person.
During the CES in Las Vegas, Gates was supported by many of his celebrity friends and top politicians alike which include, Bono, Jay-Z, Matthew McConaughey, Guns and Roses’ guitarist Slash, Sens. Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, etc.
