Microsoft’s Xbox considers Sony’s Blu-ray

Microsoft Corp’s Xbox might support rival Sony Corp’s Blu Ray technology if consumers are seen to be in favor of the alternative.
“Its consumer choice,” said Xbox hardware group marketing manager, Albert Panello. Should the HD-DVD failed, Microsoft will not disregard the possibility to adopt Blu-Ray support.
Panello on another note uttered disbelief over Warner Bros. decision to back Blu-ray DVD format exclusively and abandon HD-DVD. Panello thinks that the decision plays no significant role in affecting the ‘war’ between Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 but showed disgust over monopolizing nature of Sony and wants to see consumers having a voice in this.
The Xbox 360 supports a plug-in HD-DVD accessory that is bought separately, while Sony, hoping to dominate its next generation market, built a Blu-ray player into its PlayStation 3 machine.
